For axially securing shafts

DIN 6799 retaining rings are radial retaining elements designed for use on shafts to provide reliable axial positioning of components. Their open, three-pronged geometry allows them to engage securely in a machined groove, delivering dependable axial retention even under dynamic operating conditions. Owing to their compact design, versatility, and ability to be mounted without accessing the shaft ends, DIN 6799 rings are widely used in mechanical assemblies, automotive systems, and various industrial applications where quick, space-efficient, and secure axial retention is required.

APPLICATION

  • Alternative to standard rings, when axial access is not possible

  • Automotive engineering

  • Office Machines

  • Electrical engineering

  • Precision Mechanics

  • Optics Industry

INSTALLATION

DIN 6799 retaining rings are mounted radially by expanding the ring slightly with dedicated assembly pliers and positioning it over the shaft at the groove location. As the ring is pressed into place, its legs flex to pass over the shaft diameter and then snap firmly into the machined groove. This method allows fast, precise installation without requiring access to the shaft ends.
